Glendora Simonson: Quilting Stories and Musing

Essex
Gallery Under the Stairs

A solo textile art exhibition by local East Orange fiber artist and master quiltmaker Glendora Simonson exploring African-American heritage, family, culture, and community memory.

Hosted at the Gallery Under the Stairs, the exhibition transforms fabric, thread, and intricate collage piecing into powerful visual narratives that explore African-American heritage, family, culture, and community memory. Simonson, a co-founder of the Nubian Heritage Quilters Guild, uses her work to address storytelling, social consciousness, and personal history through traditional and experimental textile crafts.

Hosted in partnership with Mayor Ted R. Green, the East Orange City Council, and the Arts Council of East Orange.
