Eat It!

Evening Star Studio presents Eat It!, an exhibition of ceramics that explores food, eating, and community through ceramics. Celebrations center food and friendships and family. Food brings joy and comfort. It sustains, repairs and reminds. Food is centered daily in our lives and holds a special place in our communities. It is cultural and familiar and it is love and loss. It can also complicate lives and become scarce or painful for many. It must be considered a human right and hunger must be disallowed. As grocery prices climb and environmental crises affect food security, we can look to food to explore its politics.

The ceramic artworks in this exhibition look to explore our relationship to food individually and in community. The pieces in Eat It! remind us of the joy and fun in food as well as the complex social and political role food occupies in our lives.
