Flow Into Form: A Qi Gong and Expressive Art Experience

Essex
The Space

In this two-hour workshop, you’ll move through repeating cycles of Qi Gong and intuitive art-making designed to calm your nervous system, soften tension in the body, and open your creative heart. Tickets required.

Sep 19th 1 to 3pm

Breathe. Move. Create.

Facilitated by Niraj Shah – long-time qi-gong teacher and practitioner, and Naz Botas – artist and owner of the Space.

If you’ve been craving a gentle reset—something grounding, nourishing, and expressive—this workshop is your invitation.

In this two-hour workshop, you’ll move through repeating cycles of Qi Gong and intuitive art-making designed to calm your nervous system, soften tension in the body, and open your creative heart.

You’ll experience:

Qi Gong: slow, mindful movements paired with gentle breathwork to flow your energy and bring you into the present moment
Intuitive Art: using charcoal, ink, or pastels, you’ll make marks on wall-length paper as your body moves — both naturally and through guided Qi Gong sequences — allowing your inner experience to express itself visually
Across the session, we’ll repeat several short rounds of movement followed by mark-making, gradually building comfort, curiosity, and expression. By the end, you’ll be able to look at your paper and literally see the journey your body and breath took you on.

No prior experience in art or Qi Gong is needed. Just a willingness to breathe, move, and let the paper receive whatever wants to come through.

Expect a peaceful, meditative atmosphere.
A safe space.
And a sense of release you’ll carry with you long after the workshop ends.

These practices help you:

Let go of stress stored in the body
Feel more present and grounded
Reconnect with your authentic creativity
Express yourself without pressure or judgment
A beautiful experience for anyone seeking clarity, calm, and creative freedom!

What to Bring:

comfortable clothing you can move in
a water bottle
an open heart and curious mind
