Fall Exhibitions Opening Reception 2026

Join us at ArtYard for the opening of three new exhibitions and a celebration of our 10th anniversary season.

On Saturday, October 24, How We Got Over by Lonnie Holley, Gleam by Dean Millien and Jude Tallichet, and National Portrait Beauty Gallery open across ArtYard’s galleries. Artists and curators will be in attendance, making this a special opportunity to meet the people behind the work, explore the exhibitions, and spend an evening together in the galleries.

Lonnie Holley’s How We Got Over brings together new and recent work by an artist whose expansive practice encompasses sculpture, drawing, painting, music, performance, and more. Following his August residency at ArtYard, Holley returns to present an exhibition reflecting on history, memory, creativity, and the possibilities of reconnecting with America.

In Gleam, Dean Millien and Jude Tallichet come together in an exhibition that brings two distinct practices into unexpected proximity. Working with materials and forms that invite curiosity and close looking, the artists transform the familiar into something strange, playful, and luminous.

National Portrait Beauty Gallery, presented across ArtYard’s Courtyard Gallery and Studio Route 29’s Beauty Gallery, brings together portraits by a coalition of artists working in contemporary contexts, many of whom make art in supported studios for artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The exhibition celebrates portraiture as a way of paying attention to one another — and the brilliance, connection, and beauty that emerge when we make space for people to be seen.
